What are the advantages/disadvantages of poly or nylon?
Poly is much lighter in weight than nylon. Poly has natural UV inhibitors built right in. Nylon can be treated with Plastinet to achieve the same effect. Poly is water resistant, Nylon can be treated with Plastinet to achieve a similar effect. Nylon of the same twine size as poly will have a higher breaking strength and has a higher abraision resistance.
What is Plastinet?
Plastinet water based latex coating nylon nets can be treated with. This protects the netting fromm UV rays and water. It also increases the life of the net by raising its abrasion resistance.
